A concept album, 1960s spaghetti western inspired EP/Beat Tape. The project began the way so many great albums do: with a chance encounter with inspiration. In this case, a record. In 2011, Currie, a diligent vinyl digger, unearthed the soundtrack to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. "I was hooked," he says. "I studied and researched everything to do with spaghetti westerns, directors, actors, film scores, the types of instruments used. I bought up every single spaghetti western movie made from 1963 to 1970 that I could get my hands on." The end result is an evocative 25-minute experience sure to conjure vivid images of the old west, the violence that plagued it and the stillness of death. - Omar Muallem
